Swasti Garg Gemeena Jewelcraftz

Swasti Garg, short for Swastika Garg, (born 26 March 1997) is a Jewellery Designer and Illustrator based in Haryana, India, and the co-founder and Creative Director of Gemeena Jewelcraftz.

Since her childhood, Swasti have always been inclined more towards art and crafts. Therefore, at 16, she decided to build a career for herself in Art and Design. Hence, in four years, she graduated from Pearl Academy, Jaipur with a first class hons. in Bachelor of Arts in Jewellery Design by Nottingham Trent University.

Swasti Garg have always believed in giving her best at each step of the way, and this very thought process have earned her the opportunity to work in a Silver Jewellery Export house, Valentine Silver International. as an internee designer ( January – April 2017). Moreover, Swasti’s graduation project was also sponsored by a Fine Diamond Jewellery Brand, Savio Jewellery. Along with the internships, Swasti Garg’s dedication towards mastering the craft made her name enter the Pearl Excellence List, thrice in three consecutive years (2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18), also taking home the award for ‘ The Most Innovative Project in Jewellery Design’ for her graduating project, ‘The Portal’.

Soon after her graduation, Swasti Garg co-founded her brand, Gemeena Jewelcraftz, along with the support of her father, Ar.Satyakam Garg. “I want to provide my customers with premium quality jewellery, from fine to fashion, mass produced or hand-crafted” was Swasti Garg’s vision for Gemeena Jewelcraftz. Within two years, Gemeena opened two retail stores in Bahadurgarh, sold products on Amazon and also impressed customers in Noida by participating and selling premium quality fashion jewellery at exhibitions. Swasti Garg also started Gemeena Jewelcraftz official website www.gemeena.com, the one she designs and manages herself. From designing to crafting, from photography to listing, from receiving orders to shipping, Swasti Garg learned everything on her own and up till now manages everything herself.

But with no business or jewellery background and little to no knowledge on how to run a business, let alone a startup, Swasti saw her shares of ups and downs, with the pandemic causing her to shut both the retail stores due to no sales to cover the expenses during the lockdown. However, Swasti Garg deeply loves her country, India, which is reflective in the brand’s products as every product is #madeinIndia. Thus, she respected the govt. decision to enforce a lockdown and utilized this time to explore her other passion, ‘Teaching’.

Swasti Garg always wanted to share her learnings with others. ‘Knowledge is like a tree, keep it growing’ is something she have learnt at an early age. Hence, she decided to utilize the lockdown period learning new skills and teaching what she already knows to others. Therefore, in May 2020, she uploaded her very first class on Skillshare , since then Swasti Garg has uploaded more classes on Skillshare and is now teaching Jewellery Design to students worldwide.

Apart from teaching, Swasti focuses on learning new skills everyday that she can use to scale up her business in the coming years. Currently, Swasti can Design and Render Jewellery, Design Website and Documents, Illustrate, Photograph Products and Teach Online. Even though Swasti spends most of her time learning, the creative mind needs some leisure time to relax. Hence, often times, she cooks, reads or does her makeup whenever she feels exhausted.
